Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Boston to lead day-to-day multimodal logistics activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution of core service processes. The role provides frontline leadership, drives productivity, and supports customer commitments in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, problem-solving, and continuous improvement through Lean and Kaizen methodologies, with a strong focus on safety and quality in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years in warehouse/distribution or related operations with supervisory duties.
• Certifications: Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain before operating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operational activities across logistics workflows.
• Coordinate and prioritize assignments to meet service, safety, and productivity targets.
• Ensure safe handling and timely dispatch of inventory and equipment.
• Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and equipment usage for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory policies (OSHA/DOT).
• Lead safety observations and support facility/fleet safety initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and change control processes.
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve service.
