Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking an Electrical Designer for an onsite position in Chickasaw, AL. Responsibilities include leading a team of designers, producing bid and construction packages, and ensuring compliance with codes and specifications. The ideal candidate should have an Associate degree in Engineering Technology, 5+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with electrical design standards and tools. Qualifications

• 5 or more years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team to achieve project goals.
• Produce Electrical & Instrument bid/construction packages.
• Check project design to ensure accuracy and code compliance.

Skills

Ability to perform lighting level calculations

Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection

Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD

Good communication skills

Education

Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting
