Job summary

RTX is seeking a Lab Lead for its Columbia, MD Hardware Engineering Labs. You will oversee lab operations, safety, security, and property management across multiple labs, while coordinating with suppliers and engineering customers to implement process improvements.

The role requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills, collaboration with engineers and leadership, and the ability to travel locally.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years’ prior relevant experience.
• Experience in an engineering lab environment overseeing or implementing safety, security, compliance and property management.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) management and policy guidance for lab users.
• Coordinate Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment activities.
• Manage Property & Metrology, equipment service contracts and repairs.
• Perform cost analysis and ensure budgets are met.
• Process lab purchase requests through SAP, SRM, and Vallen; support SCM.
