Raytheon in Columbia, MD seeks a Lab Lead to manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions across multiple labs with emphasis on safety, security, and compliance. Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years' prior relevant experience.
• Experience in an engineering lab environment overseeing safety, security, compliance and property management.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
• Management coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment Property & Metrology Management including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs
• Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets
• Perform lab purchase requests through SAP, SRM, and Vallen, while providing process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM)
• Oversee audit/assessment preparation.
• Overseeing Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives, including engineering customer goals
• Safeguarding of classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations
• Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management
• Work to influence stakeholders within and outside responsible areas at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures
• Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving
• This position requires some physical exertion while standing, sitting, or walking, working outside
• Local travel in the general area may be required, with occasional travel outside the local area
