Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Lab Information Systems Coordinator onsite in Powell, TN to support the maintenance, optimization, and reliable operation of the LIS. You will help ensure accurate processing of laboratory data and serve as a liaison between the laboratory and IT teams.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting LIS issues, validating interfaces, participating in upgrades, documenting procedures, training staff, and ensuring compliance with CAP, CLIA, and HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare IT environment preferred.
• Exposure to laboratory workflows or IT systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and optimizes the laboratory information system (LIS) to ensure accurate data processing.
• Supports LIS configuration, including test codes, reference ranges, and result formats under guidance.
• Provides technical support to laboratory staff and other users for LIS issues.
• Validates interfaces between LIS and laboratory instruments to ensure proper data transfer.
• Assists with system upgrades, patches, and installations to maintain reliability and compliance.
• Prepares documentation and training materials for LIS users.
