Job summary

ICONMA is seeking an experienced Java Developer for an onsite Palo Alto, CA engagement. The role focuses on backend engineering, microservices, and cloud deployment, with emphasis on AI-assisted development and high-throughput streaming. Local candidates only, C2C & W2 eligible.

You will design, implement, test, and deploy scalable Java applications and RESTful services, leveraging AWS and Kafka, while collaborating across Agile squads to deliver resilient systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive professional software engineering and enterprise Java development.
• Hands-on Java, Spring Boot, and microservices experience on AWS.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools (Claude, Copilot) into development pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java applications and microservices.
• Integrate generative AI tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot) into workflows.
• Architect and maintain Kafka-based event streaming pipelines.
• Provision and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and troubleshoot containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and performance profiling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile sprints.
• Document system architectures, APIs, and runbooks.
