Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an IT Support Technician in White Salmon, WA, to lead a Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration and provide frontline Help Desk support for end users in a high-security aerospace environment.

You will handle workstation imaging, deployment, and post-migration testing, resolve hardware/software issues, and maintain thorough documentation. This contract role requires onsite presence and a strong adherence to cybersecurity procedures.

Qualifications

• Help desk/IT support experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Experience troubleshooting common hardware, software, and network issues.
• Familiarity with Office 365.
• Experience with Zendesk or similar IT ticketing system helpful.
• Exposure to PC imaging, workstation deployment, OS migrations, Active Directory, or user-account troubleshooting is a plus.
• Strong communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to follow IT and cybersecurity procedures carefully.
• Comfortable working onsite and supporting users in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades and related deployment tasks.
• Assist with workstation imaging, configuration, deployment, and post-migration testing.
• Verify successful installations and ensure apps/peripherals function properly.
• Troubleshoot compatibility issues across hardware, software, and user profiles.
• Provide Tier 1/2 support for hardware, software, connectivity, and Windows issues.
• Escalate complex problems to System Administrator as needed.
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions; manage ticket updates within SLAs.
• Collaborate with onsite System Administrator and IT leadership to prioritize migration activities.
