Job summary

San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is seeking an IT Operations Support Administrator I to monitor, resolve, and escalate incidents within our mission-critical IT environment. This role emphasizes on-site, hands-on support and collaboration with city partners to ensure stable IT services.

The position supports SFPUC’s Power, Wastewater, and Water enterprises across field sites, requiring strong incident management, hardware deployment, and customer-focused service delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in computer science or closely related field, or equivalent (60+ semester / 90+ quarter credits with CS coursework).

Responsibilities

• Provide 100% on-site, five days a week technical support to resolve hardware and infrastructure issues.
• Serve as initial Tier 1 contact for diagnosing network, hardware, and desktop software issues.
• Maintain field site IT operations and ongoing system maintenance.
• Log and track IT requests and incidents in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with remote site admins to deploy service requests across locations.
• Install and maintain desktops, printers, and peripherals.
• Deliver professional customer service to end-users.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
