Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia seeks an on-site technology support specialist to provide customized assistance for school and administrative functions. You will respond to inquiries, repair and maintain computer hardware and software, and coordinate with central technology offices to resolve issues.

You will troubleshoot PCs, servers, printers, and networks, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with account setup and software patches to keep the district’s computing environment

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.
• Three years of full-time, paid experience in customer support, which involve assisting users in maintenance, upgrading and operation of computer hardware, software, networks, and peripheral devices.

Responsibilities

• Provides users with solutions to basic problems; troubleshoots computer, server, printer and network problems; directs specialized questions to higher-level personnel or outside vendors for further support.
• Develops understanding of technology-related needs of schools and offices to maintain computing environment and provide proactive support.
• Maintains knowledge of centralized technology support functions, policies and protocols; informs users of policies and procedures.
• Sets up and configures LAN, e-mail, and other enterprise system accounts; uses diagnostic software to assist users in troubleshooting and maintenance.
