Job summary

Prisma International, Inc. seeks experienced onsite interpreters to provide simultaneous and/or consecutive interpretation for California clients, with potential Video Remote (VRI) appointments.

Ideal candidates are fluent in English and a second language (spanish required) and have court or government interpreting experience, strong ethics, and the ability to work in high-stakes settings.

Qualifications

• Court-certified in California or with US Federal Courts; if not, at least two years of onsite interpreting experience in legal/courts settings.
• Trained and/or tested by recognized interpretation skills assessment organizations and/or higher education institutions.
• Three references who can confirm your status as a professional onsite interpreter.
• Full fluency in English and the other language.
• Minimum age: 18+ years.
• Minimum education: High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Simultaneous and consecutive onsite & video remote interpretation for non-English speakers and state government representatives.
• Review and understand background documents prior to assignments.
• Strong experience using virtual interpretation tools (e.g., Zoom).
• Professional appearance, polite demeanor, and punctual.
