The candidate should have 3+ years of hands-on experience and be able to work independently onsite. Daytime weekday schedule with a focus on accuracy, eligibility research, referrals, and authorizations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on insurance verification in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of eligibility and benefit verification.
• Experience handling referrals and obtaining authorizations.
• Familiarity with payer websites and online tools.
• Experience with Availity, UnitedHealthcare and Cigna.

Responsibilities

• Review patient insurance to confirm active coverage and benefits before appointments.
• Research eligibility and benefits via payer websites.
• Secure PCP authorizations and ensure referrals are in place.
• Coordinate benefits and identify primary payer when multiple coverages exist.
• Communicate with patients, insurers, and physicians to resolve coverage questions.
• Explain insurance benefits and requirements clearly to patients.
• Make outbound calls to obtain missing information and address authorizations.
• Keep patient insurance records accurate and current.
• Work independently with high attention to detail.
