Job summary

General Motors' Global Workplace Safety internship provides hands-on ergonomics exposure at a leading manufacturing site. You will support the Workplace Ergonomics team and contribute to global initiatives, helping to advance safety processes and analysis tools.

You’ll learn to apply ergonomic assessments, digital human modeling (Process Simulate Human) and VR tools for math-based analyses, with opportunities to collaborate on proof-of-concept projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's or master's degree in ergonomics or related field.
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2030.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical ergonomics support within the GM Global Workplace Safety organization.
• Assist with the completion of innovation and global strategic projects to improve ergonomics processes and tools.
• Learn to use GM’s ergonomic assessments and digital human modeling tools to complete math-based ergonomic analyses.
• Assimilate data from many sources and apply practical and technical problem-solving techniques.
• Support the Workplace Ergonomics team with development and deployment of ergonomic initiatives and pilot activities.
• Support ergonomic specialists on proof-of-concept projects for new technology and risk analysis tools.
