Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking an Application Developer to join its IT team in Northern California. The role focuses on analyzing business requirements and building applications on the IBM i (Power Systems) using RPG and related tools.

The successful candidate will work closely with users to design, implement, and maintain software that supports manufacturing and operations. This on-site position requires living in commuting distance of Red Bluff, CA or Medford, WI, and is not eligible for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or 3 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of RPG IV / ILE RPG in a business environment
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database concepts
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to focus on long-term projects
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
• Results-oriented with urgency and commitment to accuracy
• Commitment to integrity and confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and design, create, and maintain applications on the IBM i (Power Systems) platform
• Use modern RPG and development tools to build software solutions
• Collaborate with users to identify improvements that help them perform better
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Drive all phases of development to completion
• Gather input, evaluate options, and propose practical improvements
• Communicate technical information to diverse audiences
