Job summary

The Christopher Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to act as the HR partner for a unionized, multi-shift manufacturing plant. You will own the full HR function on site, collaborating with the Plant Manager and leadership to drive workforce effectiveness, employee relations, and HR program execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
• Strong HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in both union and non-union facilities, supporting hourly and salaried employees.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Plant partnership: Advise Plant Manager and leadership; translate priorities into people solutions.
• Employee & labor relations: Liaise with hourly union workforce; manage grievances, coaching, investigations, discipline, and restructures.
• Talent acquisition: Lead hiring for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly roles with urgency.
• Onboarding, training & development: Own new hire orientation; conduct training needs analysis; support performance management.
• Compensation & engagement: Support pay grade and market analysis; oversee annual reviews and bonus programs; lead recognition and wellness initiatives.
• HR operations & compliance: Maintain HRIS data; payroll entry; KPI reporting; oversee workers' compensation and compliance with employment law.
