Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to join its executive leadership in a 24/7 unionized manufacturing setting of ~130 employees. You will shape people strategy, culture, and policies while reporting to the CEO/President and Plant Manager.

You will lead recruiting, benefits, labor relations, compliance, and HRIS initiatives, partnering with plant leadership to align workforce planning with business goals and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in an HR management role.
• Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment with CBA administration or labor relations responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment regulations (NLRB, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
• Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong judgment, organization, and time-management abilities.
• Collaborative leadership style with ability to work across functions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic member of the executive leadership, aligning workforce needs with business objectives.
• Partner with plant leadership to manage labor relations and bargaining processes.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, workforce planning, and succession initiatives.
• Oversee the full benefits portfolio (healthcare, COBRA, retirement, disability, life/AD&D, workers' comp, unemployment, FMLA, sick time).
• Serve as Plan Administrator for 401(k) and assist as Assistant Corporate Secretary.
• Enhance HR policies, training, and development programs to ensure compliance and culture.
