Job summary

American Wood Fibers, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for its Olivehurst Marysville area facility. This on-site role requires residency within commuting distance and focuses on employee relations, onboarding, and CA-specific leave management across multiple sites.

The candidate will partner with leadership to improve engagement and retention. The position demands a Bachelor’s in HR or related field with 5–7 years of manufacturing HR experience and CALifornia SHRM-CP/PHR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, or related field plus 5-7 years HR experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification for CALIFORNIA required.
• Progressive experience in HR policies, programs, and employment laws.
• Experience with compensation strategy and administration.
• Proficient in MS Office and ADP Workforce Now.
• Accurate data entry and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR guidance to line management on employee relations issues, investigations, and performance actions.
• Partner with Supervisors/Managers on performance reviews, identifying skills gaps and training needs.
• Develop onboarding programs; facilitate training for Office Managers and Leadership.
• Analyze turnover via exit and stay interviews; make recommendations to reduce turnover.
• Lead California leave of absence administration and return-to-work protocols.
• Manage unemployment and workers' compensation claims, including hearings when applicable.
• Maintain HR metrics reporting across facilities and support cross-location collaboration.
