Job summary

Suzano in Pine Bluff, AR is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer - High Voltage to lead capital projects, troubleshoot electrical systems, and improve reliability across mill assets.

The role requires hands-on field work, collaboration with engineering, maintenance and vendors, and experience with power distribution, PLCs, drives, and HV equipment; a BS degree is preferred and 3–7 years in related industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3-7 years of experience within pulp & paper, chemical, or oil & gas industries.
• Strong background in power distribution, controls, PLCs, drives, and high voltage systems.
• Experience with equipment from GE, Allen Bradley, and Westinghouse.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Experience managing contractors and vendors is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to work variable hours, including early starts and occasional late shifts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and manage electrical improvement projects (e.g., power distribution systems, crane controls, drives upgrades, power quality studies, machine room equipment, cameras).
• Address ongoing electrical issues and identify critical spares to ensure operational continuity.
• Collaborate with internal teams and interface with contractors and vendors to execute capital projects.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation using SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
• Monitor key electrical parameters and identify opportunities for system optimization.
• Troubleshooting electrical faults and making repairs to equipment and utility systems.
• Support mill operations by ensuring electrical systems meet safety, reliability, and performance standards.
• Communicate effectively across departments to align priorities and share technical insights.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization.
