Job summary

Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer to support operations of existing accelerators and the new PIP-II particle accelerator. The role involves design, development, and maintenance of high-power RF systems and collaborating in an operations team.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with 4+ years of experience in RF systems. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending accounts along with paid time off.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of engineering experience or 2+ years with a master's/PhD.
  • Operational experience in RF systems for linacs and synchrotrons.
  • Experience with network analyzers to measure RF properties.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain hardware for high-power RF systems.
  • Participate in daily operation and troubleshooting of RF systems.
  • Collaborate with staff to verify system functionality.

Skills

High-voltage and high-current pulsed RF systems
High-frequency analog circuits
Verbal and written communication in English
Hands-on electronics hardware experience
