Job summary

Vanir is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to serve as the primary onsite liaison in Norwalk, CA. You will oversee all aspects of construction, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence across complex public and healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities include coordinating with contractors, managing change orders, and leading project meetings, with emphasis on documentation and compliance. The role requires strong communication and cost-control expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
• 5–10 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager.
• Experience with facility or institutional projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications.
• Knowledge of design-phase management, building codes, and permitting.
• Proficient in project controls, scheduling, estimating, cost management, and documentation.
• Public sector, corrections/custodial, and healthcare construction experience is valuable.
• Proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Act as the onsite representative, coordinating directly with contractors and monitoring construction progress.
• Collaborate with Department of State Hospital senior management and stakeholders to align goals.
• Work with architectural teams to conduct inspections, verify compliance, and document progress.
• Track field orders, PCOS, and approve change orders as needed.
• Direct and coordinate activities of contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and architects.
• Oversee project controls, scheduling, cost management, and reporting.
• Lead project meetings; prepare minutes and ensure follow-up.
• Ensure safety standards, contractual obligations, and quality expectations are met.
• Manage logistics, organization, and safety throughout all phases.
• Oversee project closeout and turnover documentation for owner acceptance.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support project success.
