Job summary

Envirocon is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to implement the project HASP in accordance with client policies and OSHA standards. This is a project-based role requiring travel to the site and hands-on safety leadership.

You will train personnel, mentor a culture of safety, and coordinate with superintendents to address hazards with JSA-based controls. A valid driver's license and OSHA-related training are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements the site-specific HASP including client's safety program and company policy.
• Trains personnel including new hires, subcontractors, vendors, and site visitors to the site HASP.
• Leads safety culture among operations personnel.
• Coordinates with Superintendents to ensure Job Hazard Analysis address site tasks and their hazards.
• Maintains written documentation describing hazard monitoring, hazard control and training attendance to quality standards.
• Coordinates with safety supervisor and project manager to ensure resources meet H&S expectations.
• Accepts guidance from senior H&S personnel for technical execution of H&S tasks.
• Assigns PPE only by HASP, JSAs, and Respiratory Protection Program.
• Maintains field presence as an observer of operations.
• Serves as safety and health competent person per HAZWOPER.
• Performs ongoing site safety inspections of activity areas.
• Reports to Safety Supervisor on policy, compliance, resources, incidents, and document quality control.
• Reviews and assists with JSAs and permits.
• Communicates with client, regulators, and vendors as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
