Job summary

Career Team’s Accounting Supervisor role leads financial activities across multiple projects and directly supports the Director of Finance. The position manages invoicing, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Based in the Greater Dallas area, this onsite role requires supervision of accounting staff, GAAP compliance, and collaboration with senior leadership and program contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP; ability to reconcile complex balance sheets and P/L reports.
• Budgeting/forecasts across multiple funding streams (WIOA or government contracting) preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel and Accounting Software (QuickBooks, Adaptive Workday, Expensify)
• Leadership to manage a team in a virtual/remote setting.
• Excellent communication; ability to translate financial data for non-financial staff.
• High attention to detail; manage multiple priorities and tight month-end deadlines.
• Minimal travel required to meet project teams and board staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting staff; assign workload and meet deadlines.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for GAAP compliance.
• Develop streamlined procedures and internal controls for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with Federal WIOA, local and state policies.
• Direct budgeting, forecasting, and working capital planning.
• Coordinate accounting activities across projects and contracts.
• Oversee disbursement, payroll analytics, and vendor invoices.
• Manage month-end close and external audits.
