Job summary

The Boeing Company in Fort Greely, AK, is hiring a GMD Sustainment and Repair Mod Tech for 1st shift on-site work. You will assemble, repair, test aerospace components, and verify flight worthiness while following strict procedures and safety guidelines.

Expect domestic travel up to 20% for offsite support and training. Experience with mechanical/electrical components, confined spaces, and lifting loads around 35 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems.
• Able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time domestically for offsite support and offsite training.
• Able and willing to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, travel in silo basket (275lbs max).
• Willing and able to work in confined spaces.
• Lift loads approximately 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
• Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
• Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
• Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
• Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
• Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
• Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
• Oversees training.
• Works under general direction.
