Job summary

Energy Systems Group is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for a temporary 12-14 month assignment at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey. This onsite role focuses on ensuring reliable operation through maintenance, repair, and preventive measures on facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities include general repairs, HVAC inspections, basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, plus safety compliance, equipment readiness, and coordination with supervisors on progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or vocational/technical training required.
• Two years of work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings.
• Perform basic inspections and testing on HVAC equipment.
• Capable but not proficient at trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
• Work includes equipment PMs, replacing filters, belts, cleaning condensing units, cooling towers, chillers, and checking air compressors.
• Ensure safety permits are obtained and activity hazard analyses are conducted.
• Verify availability and condition of PPE.
• Communicate with supervisors on job progress and issues.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance techniques.
