Job summary

Energy Systems Group is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for a temporary 12-14 month assignment at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey. This onsite role focuses on ensuring reliable operation through maintenance, repair, and preventive measures on facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities include general repairs, HVAC inspections, basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, plus safety compliance, equipment readiness, and coordination with supervisors on progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or vocational/technical training required.
• Two years of work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Capable but not proficient at trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
• Work includes equipment PMs, replacing filters, belts, cleaning condensing units, cooling towers, chillers, and checking air compressors.
• Ensure safety permits are obtained and activity hazard analyses are conducted.
• Verify availability and condition of PPE.
• Communicate with supervisors on job progress and issues.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance techniques.

General Maintenance Technician - Temporary Assignment

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a General Maintenance Technician to join our Operations Services team atPicatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey. This position is onsite. This position is a temporary assignment with an expected duration of 12-14 months.

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of systems and buildings at company and customer sites ensuring reliable, efficient, and cost-effective long-term operation.

The essential functions of the position include:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings requiring practical skills and knowledge
• Perform basic inspections and testing on HVAC equipment
• Capable but not proficient at such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work
• Work involves a variety of the following duties: equipment PM’s, replacing filters, belts, cleaning condensing units, cooling towers and chillers and checking air compressors and other equipment
• Responsible for field verification of safe work practices and implementation of operational excellence
• Ensure safety permits are being obtained and activity hazard analyses are being conducted
• Verify the availability and condition of all personal protective equipment
• Communicate with supervisors/management as to job progress and issues of assigned work
• Be familiar with preventive maintenance techniques

Your background includes:

• High School Diploma/GED or vocational/ technical training school
• Two (2) years of work experience
