Job summary

The Cigna Group seeks an experienced Staff Pharmacist for Accredo in Orlando, FL, to oversee daily dispensing, quality, and production. The role requires ACPE-accredited degree, active pharmacist license, and the ability to coordinate with physicians and patients to verify prescriptions.

You will work a flexible schedule with peak volumes and may train other pharmacists as needed. The job is on-site at the Orlando location with shift options and occasional on-call weeks.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree required.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians.
• Interpret prescriptions and verify information for accuracy.
• Contact doctors/patients to verify prescriptions and expedite processing.
• Ensure controlled substances are verified and properly documented.
• Assist in training less experienced pharmacists and back up teammates.
• Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
• Work with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible.
• Consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions.
• Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management, or train less experienced pharmacists.
