Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX is seeking an FPGA Engineer II to provide full lifecycle support of FPGA designs (AMD Xilinx, Altera, Microchip) for missiles, radars and EW systems. You will code in VHDL, verify with directed tests, and contribute to architecture decisions in an agile environment.

The role requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years' related experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Onsite work in North Texas with relocation eligibility.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with FPGA/ASIC design or verification (VHDL/Verilog or SystemVerilog).
• Hands-on FPGA/ASIC integration and debug in a lab environment.
• Experience with source control, design reviews, and code release in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle support of production quality FPGA designs for major vendors and device families.
• Generate FPGA designs for gigabit interfaces, RF DSP, controls, data links, and embedded processing.
• Assist architecture development for FPGA-based systems and determine parts/interfaces/CONOPS.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability.
• Support verification with directed and constrained random tests and track coverage.
• Report execution status against budget and schedule using agile methods.
• Create documentation including requirements, verification plans, and user guides.
