Job summary

Raytheon in Plano, TX is seeking an FPGA Engineer II to develop FPGA designs for AMD, Altera, and Microchip devices. You will collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers from requirements through production release, supporting RF DSP, multi‑gigabit interfaces, and embedded processing.

The role requires a degree in STEM with 2+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in FPGA/ASIC design or verification (VHDL/Verilog or SystemVerilog).
• Experience with AMD Xilinx, Altera and/or Microchip devices and related tools (Vivado, Quartus, Libero).
• Hands-on experience with FPGA/ASIC integration and debugging in a lab environment.
• Experience with Git, design reviews, and code releases in a team environment.
• Experience with Python or C programming and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (US citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle support for FPGA designs across multiple vendors and device families.
• Generate FPGA designs for multi-gigabit interfaces, RF DSP, controls, data links, and embedded processing.
• Assist architecture development of FPGA-based systems and CONOPS.
• Design and code in VHDL/Verilog for reliability and maintainability.
• Support design verification with directed tests and constrained random methods.
• Report execution status within budget and schedule using Agile practices.
• Create documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user guides.
• Function as an individual contributor and present work to leadership.
• Engage in professional growth and development.
