Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission is seeking a Financial Assistant to join the Finance Department in Eastman, GA. This full-time, onsite role focuses on administrative and paraprofessional accounting tasks, including invoicing, payroll support, and reporting.

The position requires GAAP knowledge and an associate degree in accounting, with preference for a bachelor's degree. You will prepare payroll, assist with audits, and help close monthly books.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and governmental accounting experience.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and benefits.
• Associate degree in accounting with 2 years related experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to maintain records and produce reports.
• Knowledge of W-2 processing and payroll reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and payments in the financial software.
• Prepare bi-weekly payroll and payroll reports.
• Maintain employee records and assist with audits.
• Support bank reconciliation and month-end close.
