Job summary

RTX is seeking a Field Support Technician to perform installation, service, and maintenance on Collins Aerospace seating products and lavatories at Boeing facilities. The role emphasizes electrical troubleshooting, system reliability, and on-site support during aircraft build and delivery.

Reporting to the Renton, WA facility, it is a first-shift position (5:30am–2:00pm). The candidate will diagnose issues, interpret wiring diagrams, and perform on-site field service with customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical troubleshooting.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on seating and lavatories; provide clear recommendations.
• Analyze wiring and electronic units to troubleshoot malfunctions during testing.
• Use multimeters for continuity checks and system validation; verify system reliability.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals, and drawings to diagnose issues.
• Perform on-site field service including installation, operation, removal, and replacement of equipment.
• Support customers with technical questions during pre‑ and post‑installation phases.
• Complete documentation in CMES and update work tracing systems.
