Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking an Intermediate Field Technician for our Carlsbad, NM operations. You will operate and diagnose compressor packages, gas processes, and rental equipment while supporting location policies and forecasts.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, and the ability to work overtime and on-call rotations in a field environment. SSE completion and related certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of related field experience preferred.
• Completion of Kodiak’s SSE program plus 1–2 years in a field technician role preferred.
• 3+ years of compression process, production, or equipment experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities per Kodiak procedures and goals.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs and major equipment overhauls and operation.
• Builds and maintains customer relationships.
• Communicates with Supply Chain to ensure parts availability for optimal job performance.
• Ensures 98%+ mechanical availability of equipment.
• Attend all HSE meetings and follow HSE protocols.
• Maintain units in a clean and presentable condition.
• Complete required reports per area procedures.
• Provide 24/7 coverage and participate in on-call rotations.
