Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services seeks an entry-level Field Service Technician for onsite work in Pecos, TX. You will assist in running compression jobs, operate equipment, and learn through training with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will troubleshoot basic issues, maintain equipment, and communicate effectively with teams while upholding HSE standards and customer service. This is a full-time, on-site role with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred OEM, Trade School or comparable work experience.
• Successful completion of Kodiak’s Short Service Employee (SSE) program.
• Some knowledge in gas processes, mechanics of motor compressors.
• 1-year compression process, production, and equipment related experience and/or training.
• Electrical Troubleshooting skills.
• Main competencies: teamwork, effective communication, analytical capability, strong mechanical aptitude, self-motivation and self-control, initiative, planning and problem solving, and customer focus.
• Possess basic knowledge of compressor packages, including some components and systems.
• Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English required.
• Valid Driver’s License, with MVR within acceptable parameters.

Responsibilities

• Operates and assists in running one or more compression jobs and equipment.
• Troubleshoots basic issues and builds troubleshooting skills.
• Participates in HSE meetings and adheres to HSE protocols.
• Analyzes job parts and communicates needs to Supply Chain.
• Maintains customer relationships.
• Maintains equipment to 98% or better mechanical availability.
• Keeps assigned units clean and presentable.
• Completes required area reports and actions per procedures.
• Provides 24/7 coverage and participates in on-call rotations.
