Job summary

Engtal is seeking a Safety Manager for Upstate New York, primarily in the field with regular travel. You will oversee safety across civil, utility, electrical, and infrastructure projects, partnering with project leadership and field crews to uphold a proactive safety culture.

You’ll split time between on-site inspections, safety meetings, and supporting JHAs/JSAs and training. Occasional full-time assignments or part-time coverage across multiple sites require travel throughout Upstate NY.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil, utility, or heavy construction safety.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and industry safety practices.
• Certifications such as OSHA 30/10, CSP, or CRSP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety efforts across civil, utility, electrical, and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, observations, and safety meetings.
• Work directly with PMs, superintendents, foremen, and field crews.
• Support JHAs, JSAs, site-specific safety plans, orientations, and training.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, client requirements, and company safety standards.
• Provide dedicated onsite coverage for larger projects when required.
