Engtal is seeking a Safety Manager for Upstate New York, primarily in the field with regular travel. You will oversee safety across civil, utility, electrical, and infrastructure projects, partnering with project leadership and field crews to uphold a proactive safety culture.
You’ll split time between on-site inspections, safety meetings, and supporting JHAs/JSAs and training. Occasional full-time assignments or part-time coverage across multiple sites require travel throughout Upstate NY.
Travel: Regular travel throughout Upstate New York
Industry: Civil Construction / Utility Infrastructure
This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing civil and utility contractor that is continuing to expand its presence across Upstate New York and the broader Northeast.
The company specializes in major electrical utility and civil infrastructure projects, including transmission, distribution, substations, duct banks, renewable energy, and related infrastructure. Backed by a much larger national organization, they offer the resources and stability of a major contractor while maintaining the accessibility and career opportunities of a growing regional business.
For someone who wants to be in the field, take ownership of safety across meaningful infrastructure projects, and grow with an expanding operation, this is a strong long-term opportunity.
The Safety Manager will support a portfolio of projects throughout Upstate New York, working directly with project leadership and field teams to maintain a strong, proactive safety culture.
This is not a desk-based safety position. You will spend the majority of your time in the field and need to be flexible depending on where the work is happening.
At times, you may be assigned full-time to a major project, including Monday-Friday assignments in areas such as Syracuse. At other times, you may support several projects throughout the region that require part-time safety coverage.
You do not need to live in Syracuse, but you must be comfortable traveling throughout Upstate New York and staying near projects during the week when required.
You’ll be joining a company that is actively investing in its Upstate New York operation, with significant infrastructure and energy work underway and additional growth ahead.
The position offers competitive compensation, strong organizational resources, exposure to major projects, and the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the regional operation continues to expand.
