Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Tonopah, NV seeks an Occupational Medical Specialist to provide medical support for site operations, emergency response, and surveillance programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or an Associate’s degree plus 4 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paramedic or EMT.
• National/State Paramedic certification or ability to obtain Nevada certification within 60 days.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational medicine and emergency medical support for site operations, test activities, and infrastructure sustainment.
• Deliver first aid, emergency response, ambulance transport, and incident command during initial casualty events.
• Administer occupational health services, immunizations, biometric screenings, and drug/alcohol testing.
• Ensure compliance with DOE, state, and other regulatory requirements through documentation and audits.
• Maintain readiness and operational compliance of medical facilities, ambulances, equipment, and life safety systems.
• Develop, update, and implement technical reports, operating procedures, patient care guidelines, and training programs.
• Lead and coordinate emergency drills and on-site training for mission support personnel.
• Manage medical surveillance, hazard-based monitoring, and other regulation-driven health programs.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, regulators, and external partners for health and safety needs.
• Support field operations, test asset recovery, risk tracking, and range mission execution.
