Job summary

GHD's U.S West Mining Team is seeking a Field Environmental/Scientist/Engineer to join a major mine infrastructure project in Idaho. The role provides full-time field environmental compliance monitoring on a 14 days on site, 7 days off schedule with 10-12 hour shifts. On-site accommodations, meals, per diem, and travel support are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, environmental science, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years of technical experience in environmental compliance or construction monitoring.
• Knowledge of dust control, stormwater management, erosion control, water quality monitoring, and permitting requirements.
• MSHA training, OSHA 30-hour preferred; willingness to travel and work remotely in field role.
• Proficient in documentation and field reporting with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in safety meetings, pre-task planning, and FORs.
• Conduct field inspections and environmental monitoring on site.
• Support JSEA assessments and hazard assessments for field activities.
• Ensure activities comply with permits, regulatory requirements, and client standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and safety professionals to promote safe, environmentally responsible construction.
• Travel as required to remote mining and large-scale earthworks projects.
