Job summary

Consertus is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for our Federal group, working onsite on a project in the New York City Metropolitan Area.

The Construction Manager will ensure the Program Management staff follow quality standards and that A/E and construction contractors adhere to contract requirements. Responsibilities include documenting inspections, providing recommendations to GSA, and maintaining logs of defects and daily corrections. Some work may occur outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of specialized construction experience on similar contracts.
• Able to pass an HSPD-12 background check.
• Experience documenting correspondence and maintaining site records.
• Experience leading meetings to resolve issues on construction projects.
• Deep knowledge of construction practices, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for projects.
• Experience in costs and time impacts for changes.
• Experience taking-offs and pricing materials; evaluating proposals.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and perform daily project inspections.
• Review equipment, materials and workmanship.
• Observe Contractor Quality Control activities.
• Ensure Health and Safety plan compliance.
• Observe testing procedures.
• Maintain inspection logs.
• Prepare progress and final inspection reports.
• Record defects and omissions.
• Report problems encountered during work.
• Maintain daily correction logs and status reports.
• Document variances between contract docs and actual work.
• Track and issue defects/omissions to PM and GSA.
• Provide recommendations to GSA before substantial completion.
