Job summary

Consertus, a global capital program management firm, is seeking a Construction Manager for a federal project in the New York City metropolitan area. You will supervise program management staff and ensure adherence to quality standards by A/E and construction contractors.

Responsibilities include inspecting daily work, reviewing materials, coordinating tests, and documenting defects. Strong communication and OSHA safety knowledge are essential; ability to pass background checks is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 8+ years of specialized construction management experience.
• Ability to pass an HSPD-12 background check.
• Experience documenting inspections and maintaining site records.
• Experience leading meetings to resolve issues with clients and management.
• Deep knowledge of construction practices, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and translate to work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and perform daily project field inspections.
• Review equipment, materials and workmanship.
• Observe Contractor Quality Control activities.
• Observe Health and Safety plan compliance.
• Observe testing procedures.
• Maintain inspection logs and prepare reports.
• Record defects and omissions; communicate with PM and GSA.
• Provide recommendations to GSA prior to substantial completion.
• Maintain daily logs of corrections and post status reports.
