Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a hazardous waste technician in Anchorage, AK to assist in collecting, identifying, and packaging waste while supporting spill response and site operations. You will operate forklifts, inspect drums for safety and compliance, and contribute to waste stream profiling and sampling.

Minimum qualifications include passing 40-hour HAZWOPER training and potentially a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
• Ability to use heavy and light equipment such as forklift.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups at a customer's facility and ensure proper packaging/labeling.
• Assist in spill response on site as needed.
• Inspect drums for integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Load/unload waste hauling vehicles safely.
• Perform waste stream sampling and profiling.
