Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a hazardous waste technician to assist in the collection, packaging, and lab packing of waste at client sites, with spill response on site. The role requires operating forklifts, inspecting drums, and ensuring safe loading of waste vehicles.

Minimum qualification includes passing 40-hour HAZWOPER training; preferred candidates have forklift experience, strong safety focus, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Experience handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups throughout a customer's facility.
• Conduct chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Package and label waste products to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Participate in spill response on customer sites as needed.
• Operate forklifts.
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the safe loading/unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Complete waste stream sampling and profiling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
