Johnson Controls is hiring an Embedded Linux Firmware Engineer in Westford, MA. You will join a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for access control solutions, including readers and I/O modules.

You will work with Linux/Zephyr on embedded platforms and collaborate across hardware, software, and quality teams. You will modify Buildroot/U-Boot components, debug with JTAG and oscilloscopes, and contribute to sustaining engineering and diagnostics.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of embedded software or firmware experience.
• Experience developing software in C/C++ and Embedded Linux.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for access control panels, readers, and I/O devices.
• Develop software using C/C++ on Embedded Linux and Zephyr RTOS platforms.
• Support hardware integration, board bring-up, and system diagnostics.
• Modify and maintain Linux platform components including Buildroot, U-Boot, kernel drivers, and device trees.
• Debug issues across hardware and software using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support product enhancements, sustaining engineering, and field issue investigations.
