Pittsburgh Tomorrow is hiring an Embedded Software Development Engineer for a 12-month contract in Murrysville, PA. The role requires designing and implementing embedded firmware in C/C++, integrating components, and ensuring hardware/software compatibility in a highly regulated medical device context.

It is an onsite, day-one position with relocation to Murrysville. The team emphasizes code reviews, documentation, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++.
• Experience working in the medical device industry or another highly regulated industry.
• Understanding of hardware domains, including circuit analysis, microelectronics, and computer architecture.
• Experience with firmware debugging, hardware integration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with GitHub and quality documentation aligned with medical device standards.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop embedded firmware using C/C++.
• Integrate software components and third-party libraries into existing systems.
• Perform firmware debugging, optimization, and hardware/software integration testing.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain software quality documentation in accordance with medical device industry standards.
• Use GitHub for software configuration management and follow established development practices.
