Job summary

Badger Meter is seeking an on-site EHS Specialist to lead the safety program at our Racine manufacturing facility. You will partner with workers, supervisors, and leadership to build a stronger safety culture, drive safety improvements, and ensure day-to-day compliance with regulations.

In this role you will own critical safety initiatives, supervise JSA and LOTO updates, coach teams, and drive continuous improvement across multiple processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental studies, health and safety, safety management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety.
• Hands-on safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement, administer, and continuously improve EHS policies, processes, and programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections, ensuring operational controls are in place and corrective actions are completed promptly.
• Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations, including injuries, property damage, and near misses; manage workers’ compensation reporting, monitoring, and return-to-work coordination.
• Develop and report monthly EHS metrics, including injury and illness data, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
