Job summary

RTX in Decorah, IA is seeking a student co‑op to implement and maintain the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) management system and programs on site.

You will support the site EH&S generalist, help develop strategies to drive continuous improvement, and assist with contractor safety programs.

This role offers hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes, exposure to EH&S regulations, and opportunities to learn about site processes and equipment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related STEM field.
• Actively enrolled in a degree program throughout the co‑op session.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) management system and programs.
• Provide critical EH&S support to the site EH&S generalist, ensuring all site actions are completed promptly and safely.
• Assist in developing strategies and policies to drive continuous improvement in EH&S.
• Support site projects and contractor safety programs.
• Gain an understanding of the site's processes and equipment, identify relevant hazards, and ensure associated risks are maintained at acceptable levels.
