Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) seeks a Distribution Systems Lead CEL Engineer to support our BIM contract.

This on-site role at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii requires residing in the Honolulu area for daily onsite support, with no travel pay. The DS Lead CEL Engineer evaluates, designs, and oversees installation of equipment in telecommunications rooms (MDF/IDF/CELs), including racks, grounding, electrical, cooling, cable pathways, and compliance with AF/SF and UFC

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
• 4–7 years’ experience with telecommunications rooms, data center buildouts, or ISP infrastructure.
• Experience managing cabling, rack installation, or structured cabling teams.
• Knowledge of grounding/bonding, power specs, equipment standards, and room environmental requirements.
• Experience with AFCENT, AFNET, or equivalent DoW telecom environments (preferred).
• Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys documenting power, cooling, bonding/grounding, pathways, and room readiness.
• Develop and or follow layout designs including rack plans, cable management, grounding/bonding, electrical circuits, and equipment placement.
• Manage GDIT, Agency, and Subcontractor labor performing room buildouts, rack installation, cable routing, and grounding.
• Ensure compliance with UFC, TIA/EIA, I3A, and DoW telecommunications room standards.
• Coordinate with base civil engineering for facility upgrades or modifications.
• Support site installation of new fiber, CAT6, WIFI, CEL closet solutions to include but not limited to cabinets, switch node solution, UPS and power solutions.
• Work closely with Network, Fiber Optic, ISP, and OSP teams for integration of infrastructure.
• Participate in design reviews and customer briefings as a SME.
