Job summary
Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Software Engineer to support a US Navy IT Services contract based in San Diego, CA. This on-site role focuses on secure software development across unclassified and classified environments, delivering modern solutions and integrating systems within an Agile/DevSecOps framework.
The ideal candidate has a current Secret clearance, DoD 8570 IAT Level II cert, a IT-related Bachelor's, and hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript, APIs, and secure coding
Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance.
- One DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (CySA+, Security+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
- Experience developing software using Python and JavaScript.
- Understanding of software engineering principles and secure development practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain secure software applications using Python, JavaScript, and other modern languages.
- Implement secure coding practices per DoD directives and DISA STIGs.
- Design, build, and optimize web applications and user interfaces.
- Develop and maintain Web Service APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) for data integration.
- Apply Agile/Scrum, TDD, and OO design principles.
- Support CI/CD DevSecOps pipelines.
- Create and maintain database schemas, data dictionaries, and architecture docs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into software solutions.
- Provide system integration support across environments.
