Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer to support the U.S. Navy. This 100% onsite role is in Norfolk, VA, with additional sites in San Diego, CA and Jacksonville, FL.

You will design, build, and maintain Azure-based data pipelines, ingesting, transforming, staging, and preparing data for enterprise reporting. The role emphasizes hands-on work with Azure Data Factory, SQL, data integration, ETL, and Power BI to connect disparate systems and turn unstructured data into actionable

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience focusing on enterprise data transformation, staging, aggregation, and pipeline development.
• Hands-on experience developing Azure Data Factory pipelines and integrating data from multiple systems.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL databases, including writing complex queries.
• Hands-on Power BI experience, creating reports and dashboards from underlying data.
• Experience with ETL, data integration, data transformation, data staging, and data aggregation.
• Active DoD Secret clearance and IAT Level II certification are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Azure-based data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to ingest, transform, stage, aggregate, and prepare data for enterprise reporting.
• Connect legacy and enterprise systems to establish reliable data flows between databases and reporting platforms.
• Analyze new and unclean datasets to determine ingestion, transformation, storage, staging, and aggregation strategies.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database solutions to support data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting.
• Support the development of Power BI dashboards and reports with accurate, clean data.
