Job summary

Freenome is seeking a Research Associate I/II to help develop and validate clinical-grade NGS assays in a regulated, high-throughput environment. You will work across molecular research, computational science, automation engineering, and clinical operations to advance early detection technologies.

Starting with a prototype assay, you will generate and analyze data, document observations, and iterate on methods to improve end-to-end test performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1+ year industry experience or Master's in molecular biology.
• Hands-on experience with NGS-based assay development and sequencing.
• Strong understanding of human cell-free nucleic acids and cancer biology.

Responsibilities

• Develop DNA assays using NGS and molecular biology.
• Generate and analyze data to characterize automated assays.
• Collect data meticulously and document observations.
• Collaborate with researchers and computational biologists to interpret data.
• Present findings to cross-functional teams.
• Assist in troubleshooting and experimental design with supervision.
• Identify process improvements for lab workflows.
