Job summary

Babylist Health seeks an Insurance Billing Specialist to own the full billing cycle for durable medical equipment. You will verify eligibility, submit clean claims, pursue timely reimbursement, and resolve aged accounts onsite near Baltimore.

The role demands DME billing expertise, strong coding knowledge, and excellent communication with patients, providers, and payers. You will work with Brightree and NikoHealth, and gain exposure to other EMR systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional insurance billing experience with direct billing outcomes.
• DME billing experience is essential.
• Ability to read EOBs and determine next steps (rebill, appeal, elevate, or close).
• Fluent in medical coding and compliance (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10).
• Hands-on with Brightree and NikoHealth; familiarity with Epic, Kareo, AdvancedMD is a plus.
• Strong communication, empathy, and accuracy under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Verify eligibility and perform benefit investigations through payer portals.
• Submit, track, and follow up on claims to speed reimbursement and reduce denials.
• Work aged accounts to drive balances to resolution.
• Own EOB review from read to resolution and take appropriate actions.
• Draft and submit well-documented appeals for denied claims.
• Explain benefits and billing questions to patients with clarity and empathy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to tighten workflows and improve patient experience.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve billing accuracy and efficiency.
