Job summary

Babylist Health is seeking an Insurance Billing Specialist to own the full billing cycle for DME claims and eligibility. You will verify coverage, submit clean claims, and pursue reimbursement across payer portals with a patient-centered approach.

You’ll work onsite near Baltimore, leverage Brightree and NikoHealth, and use AI daily to move work faster while maintaining accuracy and compliance, with a strong focus on collections and denial management.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DME billing experience essential.
• 3+ years of professional insurance billing and eligibility.
• Able to read an EOB and decide next steps.
• Fluent in medical coding and compliance: CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10.
• Familiar with Brightree and NikoHealth; Epic/Kareo/AdvancedMD a plus.
• Clear, empathetic communicator with strong prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Verify eligibility and run benefit investigations through payer portals.
• Submit, track, and follow up on claims to speed reimbursement and cut denials.
• Work aged accounts and drive balances to resolution.
• Own EOB review from read to resolution: rebill, appeal, elevate, or close.
• Draft and submit well-documented appeals on denied claims.
• Explain benefits and billing questions to patients with clarity.
• Partner with internal teams to tighten workflows and improve compliance.
• Put AI-enabled tools to work on billing and reimbursement with accuracy.
