Job summary

RTX in Tucson is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to design digital electronic circuits for weapon system products. The role involves FPGA/ASIC implementation, high-speed interfaces, and real-time processing across space and desert environments.

You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines, use VHDL/Verilog and industry tools, and adhere to Raytheon engineering standards. A DoD security clearance is required or the ability to obtain interim clearance prior to start date.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Coursework in circuit design, digital electronics, lab coursework, PCB design and signal integrity.
• Class projects, internships, or academic research demonstrating the ability to apply technical coursework.
• Self-motivated problem solver with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Hardware Design: Writing, simulating, synthesizing, and verifying digital hardware design using VHDL or Verilog for FPGAs or ASICs.
• System Integration: Supporting integration of digital designs with subsystems including analog electronics, software, and mechanics.
• Testing and Validation: Conducting lab testing, debugging, timing, signal integrity, and power analyses.
• Collaboration: Working with multidisciplinary teams to meet design requirements and ensure product performance.
• Documentation: Producing design specs, validation reports, and test procedures per Raytheon standards.
• Growth: Gaining experience with tools like Xilinx Vivado, Synopsys, ModelSim, and MATLAB.
